A Solution for Missing Teeth.

Missing teeth can be an embarrassing problem, but Dr. Buntemeyer can offer patients a permanent solution.

Dental implants are titanium cylinders (rods) that are surgically placed in the jaw bone. They act as an anchor for a porcelain crown (false tooth). Once the metal cylinder is placed, it must be left for several months to heal in the jaw. Once integrated with the jaw bone, Dr. Buntemeyer will restore the implant with a crown.

Some patients with dentures may benefit from having their dentures stabilized using dental implants. Once the denture is secured to the dental implant, the patient can talk and chew without the worry of their denture slipping or making clicking noises.

If you have questions about dental implants or would like to find out if you are a good candidate for them, contact our office for an implant consultation today.

Basic Implant

Think of dental implants as artificial tooth roots, similar in shape to screws. The dental implants consist of two major parts: an artificial tooth – above the gums, and an underlying permanent anchor place in the jawbone. The tooth attaches to the implant – which gives you a complete tooth.
